It's an internally lighted viewer. The image is magnified 5. 5 times, same as the Model C and Model E, but unlike the model C and E, the Model F is self contained, lighted, not requiring a separate light source. NOTE: There is a simple but necessary method in closing the Model F viewer upon changing batteries and or bulb.
