In our inaugural blog, we thought we would share a few statistics related to online reviews:
- According to TrustPilot, 89% of consumers study online reviews before making a purchasing decision.
- The majority of those consumers are relying on Google, with 59% of consumers using this channel for online research.
- When a consumer has left a negative review with a business, 53% of those consumers expect to hear from that business in the form of a response to the review within a week. That begs the question, how quickly are you responding to your online reviews?
- According to our friends at ReviewTrackers, 94% of consumers have previously opted not to engage with a business due to a negative review.
- And according to BrightLocal, 79% of buyers trust online reviews as much as they do personal recommendations from close family and friends.
We will look at more statistics in the weeks and months to come, but let this serve as a valuable reminder in the need for thoughtful reputation management efforts for every business owner.
